Solar Consumer Goods

Solar panels aren’t the only solar powered products that are available. There are a great many solar consumer goods that are on the market already that allow you to take solar energy with and the products will never need batteries. Even better, solar energy + products almost always = consumer interest. Investors haven’t failed to notice this and are beginning to incorporate renewable and solar energy in just about every device you can think of, even relatively high power devices you might not have thought were suitable for solar applications.

The first solar products most people remember seeing were calculators that came out in the early 1980s. These first solar power reliant products were possible, largely because they drew so very little power with the advent of liquid crystal displays. Today, when one looks at upcoming tradeshows for solar energy products, you’ll find a bevy of consumer goods that not only consume less power than previous models but, are also outfitted with small, efficient photovoltaic (PV) collectors designed to be rugged enough for everyday use.

Of the products one most often finds in the local stores, it is very likely there is a single company that makes the solar version of just about everything in a given superstore, such as ICP solar making products for Coleman or Losson solar making custom products and prototypes.

Some of the more high-powered devices you’ll find listed in a typical solar energy product review might include solar powered factory pool products such as heaters and testing pool cleaning robots. A common type of device, the solar hot water heater is often the subject of a product review, since there are so many in operation. In North America, these constituted the most economical use of solar when PV prices were still way too high.

When considering some of the more fringe elements of solar such as solar products affiliate program, be very careful what you get into. Like any market that’s booming, it’s best to be sceptical of any new device with solar cells only. Such a product may not even be adequately powered unless it has a battery backup, a novel way of conserving energy (such as bright white LED bulbs) or more efficiently using power.

Though a wholesale supplier of solar supplies, even retail companies are being bought and sold as the solar energy sector really heats up.
